Sex Slaves of West 43rd Street

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/press_box/2004/01/sex_slaves_of_west_43rd_street.html

Shafer, Jack. "Sex Slaves of West 43rd Street." Slate. The State Group, LLC, 2011. Web. October 30, 2011.
In this article, the author is further investigating an Article in the New York Times. The article "Girls Next Door," by Peter Landesman is kind of being shot down by Shafer. He says that he believes that sex slavery does exist because of a vivid description given by Landesman, but does not give any more praise to him. Instead he is saying how the facts that are given in his article are not verfiable or very well supported. They are vague, anecdotal, anonymous, suspicious, and slippery. Shafer re analyzes Landesmans article and picks out the flaws and corrects them with more verifiable information.
This article didnt really help me any in my focus topic. but it does give some good facts and numbers that i could possibly use. the authors intended audience was probably New York Times readers. His intention was to proove that Landesman's information was false.
